Baltimore School for the Arts can't wait to welcome its students back for the 2016-17 school year. We're excited to celebrate the culture, arts, and achievement of the world's second-largest continent for our theme year, Africa in Focus.

In the meantime, many parents have told us they are ready to go shopping for school supplies.

Here is the 2016-17 list:

Minimum Supply List for BSA Academics

  • 4 Binders (1” or more)
  • Set of dividers for each binder
  • Pencils
  • Pens (blue and black)
  • Highlighters
  • Composition Book (wide or college rule)
  • Loose Leaf paper
  • TI 84 Plus Graphing Calculator
  • Notebook sized hole puncher
  • (2 packs) 3” x 5” lined index cards

Strongly Recommended

  • Small stapler
  • Pencil Sharpener/Extra Lead
  • Binder size 3-hole punch
  • USB stick / flash drive
  • Spanish/English dictionary (if in Spanish)

It is very likely students will need additional supplies for academic classes. Additional binders/folders might also be needed in art areas. Each teacher will give you a complete list of necessary supplies for each class and deadlines for which these supplies must be purchased. A BSA school planner will be provided for each student at the start of the school year. Graphing calculators can typically be found on sale in August, and they cost approximately $100. However, this calculator will be used the remainder of the time here at BSA and then in college. You can find used graphing calculators online for less expense.
