TWIGS, To Work In Gaining Skills, is a free after-school arts program for Baltimore City residents only.
Develop your talents in dance. Our staff of professional dancers will train you
in the basics of ballet. Classes will be held 1–4 times a week depending upon class level. In the fall, TWIGS students may audition for the school’s annual production of The Nutcracker.

9 am Students entering grade 2 with last names beginning with A-L
10:30 am Students entering grade 2 with last names beginning with M-Z
1 pm Students entering grade 3
2:30 pm Students entering grade 4
4 p.m. Students entering grade 5
Each applicant will participate in a brief dance movement class as part of the audition. For the audition, wear a leotard and footless tights or spandex shorts/ gym shorts with a close tting t-shirt. No skirts, leg warmers, costumes, or jeans. Ballet slippers or socks are required. No pointe shoes. Loose-fitting clothing or jewelry should not be worn. Hair should be securely pinned back. The audition process typically lasts about two hours.
