Alma Davenport, the Executive Assistant to the Director, is a Baltimore-based award-winning playwright, poet, director, producer, teaching artist, and arts administrator. As the Artistic Director of The Strand Theatre, she champions women and non-binary voices. Her previous venture, in Seattle, Washington, Brown Soul Productions, nurtured and amplified the voices of women of color. She holds degrees from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and Seattle University.
