Thank you for your interest in auditioning for the Baltimore School for the Arts!
Baltimore School for the Arts will be holding the auditions on January 13-16, 2025 for the 2025-26 school year.
Please read carefully the information for each department concerning necessary preparation for the audition. There is a special instruction for the Visual Arts portfolio review. Students are selected based solely on the audition and interview. Baltimore School for the Arts does not consider recommendations or student records, nor are student records or recommendations consulted.
Current 8th and 9th grade students may audition in one or two art areas: Dance, Instrumental Music, Vocal, Acting, Stage Design & Production, Visual Arts, and Film and Visual Storytelling.
Students are selected based solely on the audition. Baltimore School for the Arts does not consider recommendations or student records, nor are student records or recommendations consulted.
The only information required for an audition is a completed online application by Sunday, December 8, 2024. All letters of acceptance or non-acceptance will be mailed on or about February 22, 2025. If you have problems using the online application link please direct your questions to Erica McLaurin at highschoolauditions@bsfa.org.
Remember, you can audition for two different art disciplines. However, you can only enroll in one field, even if you are accepted to both programs.
Please understand that these audition instructions are intended for in-person auditions. Should in-person auditions not possible in January of 2025, additional information will be forthcoming. Non-Baltimore City residents who are accepted for admission must pay tuition that is set by the Baltimore City Board of Education. Tuition is currently $10,000 per year, and is subject to change.
