Dr. Ford has been at BSA since 1981, beginning as a saxophone instructor, then instrumental music coordinator and later rising to Music Department head in 1990.

In addition, he helped to build and refine the TWIGS after-school and weekend music program for 2nd to 8th grade students. Dr. Ford’s credentials are wide-ranging and impressive: bachelor of music from the University of Texas; master of music from Bowling Green State University; Premier Prix, Medaille d’Or from the Conservatoire National de Bordeaux; Fulbright-Hays Fellowship to France; and doctor of musical arts from the University of Maryland.

Dr. Ford said of his new position, “The school is a dream job. This is what the arts are all about.”  Please join us in supporting him in his new position as the year gets underway!
